Spring Break Trip #1 – McCall Spring Skiing Adventure – From Boise then Back to Spokane
- Day 1 – Fly into Boise from Spokane
Pick up your Van and hit the road for a Spring Skiing adventure to McCall. Drive north from Boise to McCall - 108 Miles/2.25 hrs. There are 2 different ski resorts to visit; Brundage Ski Resort in McCall, or Tamarack Ski resort in Donnelly.
Brundage allows overnight camping in the parking lot.
Tamarack does not allow overnight camping, but there is a plowed parking area located at Poison Creek Campground located less than ¼ mile from the resort. All our vans have heaters, so camping overnight in cold weather conditions is not a problem! Plus, the roads into the Ski resorts are very well plowed and maintained so you don’t need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get into these resorts. Our vans have made numerous ski trips over the years and we’ve never had a problem getting into these resorts.
- Day 2/3/4 – Spend the days Skiing at local ski resorts, or rent snowmobiles (Cheap Thrills Rentals in McCall) and drive into Burgdorf Hot Springs! There are a variety of Hot Springs in the area, another that is near Tamarack Ski resort is Gold Fork Hot springs, which is well plowed to allow winter access.
- Optionally visit friends in the McCall area and boondock at their house for a couple days.
- Day 5 finally drive north to Spokane/ Coeur d’Alene and drop off the van - 260 Miles/4.5 hrs.
Trip Summary – 880 Miles/18 hrs. driving over 6/7 days. Optionally shorten this trip by 1 or 2 days if you choose.
