Plan Your Adventure!
If you’re feeling adventurous, start with a hike to Bumpass Hell, Lassen’s largest hydrothermal area. For a refreshing challenge, take a dip in the cold, mountain-rimmed waters of Manzanita Lake. Climb Lassen Peak for breathtaking views of the volcanic terrain, or visit the Devastated Area to witness the powerful impact of past eruptions. For a quieter escape, head to Warner Valley, where meadows, trickling waterfalls, and passing deer and marmots await. Ready to explore Lassen Volcanic National Park?
Bumpass Hell
Want to try something new? Start your day with a hike through Bumpass Hell, Lassen’s very own geothermal playground. With boiling mud pots and steaming vents, you might feel like you’ve stepped onto another planet—but don’t worry, it’s just the Earth letting off a little steam (literally).
Manzanita Lake
For a quieter experience, visit Manzanita Lake, known for its calm waters and stunning reflections of Lassen Peak. Pack a picnic, cast a line, or simply relax and take in the view. Who needs postcards when you have this in front of you, right?
Lassen Peak
For those seeking a challenge, the hike to Lassen Peak’s 10,457-ft summit is as rewarding as it is demanding. The stunning views of the entire park stretched out before you make every step worthwhile—and the gusty winds at the top only add to the sense of accomplishment. It’s an adventure you’ll never forget!
Devastated Area
The Devastated Area serves as a striking reminder of Lassen’s volcanic past, where massive boulders and ash tell the story of its powerful eruptions. This easy trail, far from a strenuous mountain hike, offers a panoramic view of the dramatic aftermath from 1915.
Warner Valley
Looking for a quieter slice of nature? Head to Warner Valley, where surging streams, meandering creeks, and hidden waterfalls create a forest clearing so serene it feels like Lassen’s secret garden. Just don’t let the secret slip!
Boiling Springs Lake Trail
Boiling Springs Lake: What’s not to love about a lake that boils? This easy hike is a crowd-pleaser, leading to the lake’s surreal, steamy waters that feel like nature’s ultimate hot tub—though it’s definitely one you’ll want to admire from a distance!
Why Choose a Campervan for Lassen Volcanic National Park?
