What happens if the oil change message comes on while driving the campervan?

So…routine oil changes for all of our Ford campervans are based on driving habits and not mileage since the van uses an oil life sensor which alerts us as to when the oil should be changed. In this case, the oil life is determined by the built in sensor therefore we do not have specific defined intervals. We do however try to track and predict the mileage between oil changes to do our best to change them prior to the oil change indicator light coming on.

During your Trip: If you are on a rental and the oil change message comes on while driving then you can drive 500 more miles before an oil change is required. If your trip is ending shortly then no action is required. If you will be driving more than 500 miles before the end of your trip then you can contact us or get an oil change performed at most any lube shop using a full synthetic oil and then simply send us the receipt for reimbursement. Just make sure the lube shop has rollup doors that are high enough to accommodate our LARGE and MEDIUM TALL vans.
